A Machine Builder with Tradition
The company name HUNGER has existed for almost 100 years. In 1922 Ludwig Hunger established a toolmaking factory in Munich where he produced precision cutting tools (Hunger-Reamers).
In 1967 a branch was opened in Kaufering by Manfred Hunger, son of the founder, as there was no possibility of futher expansion at the main works. The Kaufering branch was converted in 1970 into an independent limited company.
Today we are firmly established as the world market leader in brake reconditioning machinery through the development and production of specialised machines specifically for the brake repair shop.
Our location is in Bavaria, 60 km west of Munich, where we produce our machines using the most progressive methods in a modern production complex with 6,000 sq.m. of workshop space. Currently the third generation leads this family business. Markus and Thomas Hunger are energetically supported by a trusted and qualified team of around 60 people.

Our automotive equipment line includes brake reconditioning equipment and mounting aids for removal and fitting of brake components. The line will be continously expanded and improved.
The dependability and high quality of our machines has built a worldwide reputation for the name of HUNGER in industrial circles. Our machines are thoroughly versatile, dependable and durable for commercial vehicles as well as for passenger cars.
HUNGER machines enjoy a worldwide reputation and are therefore recommended and promoted by all leading vehicle producers.
We are particularly proud that HUNGER machines are virtually maintenance free, extremely dependable, with an almost unlimited life even under the most demanding conditions.
As market leader our knowledgeable and innovative development, production and marketing personnel solve specific problems for customers and devise new products. Timely adaptation to new knowledge and information and new vehicle designs contributes to our strength.
In 2007 well reputated Anton Wimmer Maschinenfabrik GmbH from Forstinning became part of the HUNGER Group. The production range includes manual, semi- and fully automated cut off machines for hard materials and chamfering machines. The operation was moved completely to Kaufering.
Development, Production and Marketing
Efficient CAD design with CNC controlled machine tools and work centres ensures high quality machine production. Our exacting production methods enable us to supply complex components and subassemblies to large machine builders as subcontractor.
Special value is placed upon quality safeguards on every product with precision measuring instruments and a computer printout of the results. Consequently a quality management programme conforming to the international standard DIN ISO Quality was carried out without difficulty and certified in September 1999. Furthermore, many renowned machine tool builders to whom we supply components have stringently tested our proceedures and homologated them to e.g. VDA Standard 6.1.
Our products are exported to more than 100 countries throughout the world. In most European countries and in the USA we have permanent agents or our own sales organisation. For us, customer relations embraces competent and speedy response and support for our products in all aspects of technical and commercial service.
